School health and clinic boundaries
I believe school health services should be transparent, lawful, age-appropriate, and clear about parental consent.
The issue
Families deserve clarity about which health services schools provide, who provides them, what requires consent, and how records are protected.
Why it matters in Katy ISD
Ambiguity can undermine trust; clear boundaries help staff respond to student needs and emergencies.
What the Board controls
The Board adopts policy, approves partnerships and funding, and monitors consent, privacy, and service scope.
My approach
I would require transparent service descriptions, strong parental notice and consent, clear emergency protocols, and protected records.
